About empowered mind thriving lives

I originally started a blog that didn’t gain much traction. My second attempt was better, but then I lost my son, and for over two years, I didn’t write a word. When I began again earlier this month, it felt good. Writing helped me heal, and I realized that my journey could help others too.

I know I’m not alone. Many women over 50 and 60 feel invisible, especially in today’s fast-paced world. During my grieving process, I reflected on age, trauma, and how we were often raised to ‘handle things on our own.’ We were told to be strong, and for some, like me, being a loner was a survival mechanism.

Through my work in mental health, I’ve come to understand that many of us have carried unspoken trauma, never labeling it as such. As a psych mental health practitioner, I’ve heard so many stories from clients, and it helped me recognize that what I experienced would now be considered trauma. I also realized how many women in our age group don’t seek mental health support—just like I didn’t.

That’s why I’ve created this blog. It’s for those of you who, like me, have faced your challenges quietly and are looking for understanding and support. While my blog offers insights, stories, and tools to help you navigate mental health, I want to encourage anyone struggling with thoughts of self-harm to seek immediate help at your local emergency room. This blog is here to supplement professional help—not replace it.”
